This is a case with mental illness who was admitted in our ward for treatment with regular f/u. During admission, some abnormal laboratory finding were noted. In fact, patients with mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder have an increased prevalence of metabolic syndrome and its components, risk factors for cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.
